Waking up along the Danube : I wandered around an earily quiet island on the early morning of day 4. Early islanders were getting up, while late islanders were getting their last beer at 8:00 in the morning. This spot on the northern end of the island must be the most idyllic place to pitch your tent; waking up to the returning of chirping birds and the serene sounds of the Danube flowing. You just have to hope there are no flash floods.

Radio Barkas : Radio Barkas is the tiny (and oh-so-cute) mobile radio station, broadcasting a groovy mix of 50s and 60s songs to the festival grounds. The music is played from a "condensed" Barkas car, which has all the Barkas djs need in it; turntables, music, speakers, and a smoke machine!

Day 2 - Negative :

Octopus area at Night : By day, the Octopus area is buzzing with activity, but by night it gets earily quiet, with the distant pounding sounds of a multitude of stages.

Fussball : Fussball tables are everywhere on the island grounds, but no matter how many there are, you will seldom find one not seeing use 24-7.

Pre-Festival : Getting Ready : Stages are popping up everywhere on the Danube island of Obuda. Whatever the rumors, no matter the road closings along the Danube - here's your living proof: Sziget Festival 2008 is about to get switched on.

Graffiti : The innumerable venues all slice out a piece of island ground for their activities with large fences, come covered for additional privacy. Needless to say plain white coverings quickly transform into (often unsolicited) artwork at the hands of the omnipresent urban artists.

DAY 6 - Entrance to Teatro de Automatas : Thirty five mechanical engines in continous movement.
