Geszti/Novák During the day of Against Racism : Many of thos who chose to live on the island for Sziget 2009 have arrived by the night before the official opening. Others came only for the zero day concerts given by a huge number of who's who of the Hungarian Pop and Jazz world. The goal: raising awareness and inspire action through their day of Music Against Racism.

Main Stage VIP Area : As you can see the VIP area behind the Main Stage, although off-limits to most, is just another hangout, but without the excitement all other watering holes have to offer around the island grounds.

Tankcsapda Crowd : You get a pretty good view of the crowd and of a gorgeous sky from the handicap access vieweing area during the anniversary performance of Tankcsapda.

On the Beach : Despite 'sziget' meaning 'island' in Hungarian, it's easy to forget that you are surrounded by water, while immersed in he festival offerings, and certainly possible to be aware and yet oblivious that there are beaches around you. I reserve the right to feel a certain homoerotic vibe looking around in this one, but at least reminisce of my adolescent reading of the Lord of the Flies.

AXE Promotional Scrub : AXE shower gel packets and sponges were covering the island grounds fairly densely by the end of the festival. But can you blame the festival goers for volunteering for a scrub by the scantily dressed assistants?

Joga : Massage, Thai Chi and Joga are widely practiced throughout the island. While I refer my body solely to sleep and coffee to alter its degrees of rest and calm instead, I doubt not that it can work for you and certainly enjoy watching the process.
